Tourism and Economic Development in India: A Review of Sustainable Management Practices
Abstract
Tourism has become one of the rapid growth industries that have made a significant contribution to the economic growth of India. The industry does not only create job opportunities and forex earnings but it also contributes to the development of infrastructure and cultural conservation. A high growth comes with its own challenges, though, as there is a need to ensure that the growth in tourism is sustainable in the environmental, social and economic context. The review paper will evaluate the connexion between tourism and economic development in India with regards to sustainable management practises. Based on the national policies, government projects, and examples, the paper outlines the successful models and the gaps, which remain open in the Indian approach towards sustainable tourism. The effects of the community-based tourism, eco-tourism and responsible tourism programmes on local economies are also discussed. Moreover, the paper identifies the policy frameworks, which include Swadesh Darshan Scheme, PRASHAD, and the Sustainable Tourism Criteria of India (STCI) and the impact they have on the sustainability. The results indicate that, even though India has done a commendable work in enhancing sustainable tourism, the issues of environmental degradation, poor stakeholder involvement and poor implementation of its policies are still impeding its potentials. The paper also concludes that integrated policy approaches, digital transformation, and more active involvement of communities are the key recommendations concerning sustainable tourism-based economic development in India.

Entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) have become a significant paradigm in the context of the development of innovative and enterprise growth by people, institutions, and resources that are interrelated. In this respect, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are crucial as the participants of and the receivers of active entrepreneurial systems. This is a review paper that discusses the linkage between entrepreneurial ecosystems and innovation based on SMEs in particular. Using the literature available, the paper reveals that the ecosystems of universities, government policies, financial institutions, technology hub, as well as social networks contribute to the creation of an environment that helps in the innovation. It focuses on the effect of enabling regulatory environments, availability of finance, mentoring and business networks in triggering innovation and technological progress among the SMEs. The other barriers to innovation-led growth discussed include resource constraints, inadequate access to digital infrastructure and disjointed policy implementation. This paper, based on findings of global and regional researchers, especially those in the emerging economies, highlights the importance of a holistic and comprehensive approach to the strengthening of entrepreneurial ecosystem in a holistic manner. The results highlight that sustainable innovation in SMEs needs institutional support, as well as cultural openness, adaptive learning and policy coordination. The review concludes with suggestions on how to develop resilient ecosystems that can be used to make SMEs more competitive and promote inclusive economic growth.

Green Marketing and Consumer Behaviour: Emerging Trends in Sustainable Business Practices
Abstract
This is a review paper that dwells upon the fact that the relationship between green marketing and consumer behaviour focuses on the movement toward sustainable business practises. It integrates the available literature to learn the relationship that exists between green marketing strategies and consumer attitudes, purchase intentions, and brand loyalty. The review indicates that increased environmental consciousness and preferences in ethical consumption patterns have compelled businesses to embrace environmentally friendly marketing, sustainable packaging, and open communication. Among the main tendencies, one will single out the emergence of digital green marketing, the incorporation of ESG principles, and the implementation of the models of the circular economy. Nevertheless, the literature also demonstrates that there are still certain issues including greenwashing, high cost of products, and the attitude-behaviour gap in the consumers. The article concludes that new studies need to revolve around cross-cultural investigation, digital revolution in green marketing, and the effects of long-term behaviour to enhance the relationship between sustainability and consumer decision-making.

Skill Development and Youth Employment in India: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Government Programs
Abstract
India as a country with such a large youth base is at a demographic crossroads that the future of the Indian economy is pegged on the successful use of human resources. Although the country has been experiencing one of the highest rates of economic growth, unemployment and underemployment, particularly among the youths remains a challenge. Development of skills has thus become a strategic policy agenda to ensure that there is a better linkage between education and employability. This is a critical review paper on the effectiveness of government-initiated skill development programmes including Skill India Mission, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) among other programmes. The paper uses perspectives of official reports, scholarly research, and policy reviews to reveal accomplishments, gaps, and emerging trends in the skill ecosystem in India. It also examines the contribution that the private sector, NGOs, and international organisations have to put alongside government efforts. The results indicate that although the programmes have achieved significant improvements in widening the training infrastructure and enrolments, there have been threats regarding the nature, linkages to placements, and pertinence to the industries. The paper ends by giving policy suggestions on how to establish an integrated and inclusive and future oriented skill development framework that can effectively be translated into sustainable youth employment.
