Copyright Terms

The following terms govern copyright ownership and publishing rights for scholarly articles published in the International Journal of Law and Business Studies (IJLBS).

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright and full publishing rights to their articles. Publication does not require the transfer of copyright to IJLBS or its publisher, Global Publications.

The copyright holder is identified on each published article. Rights in third-party material remain with the respective rights holders unless otherwise stated.

2. Rights Granted to the Journal

Under the publication agreement, authors grant IJLBS and its publisher a non-exclusive right of first publication and the rights necessary to reproduce, distribute, display, archive, preserve, and disseminate the article.

These rights allow the journal to:

  • Publish and maintain the article on its website.
  • Include the article in the relevant journal issue and archive.
  • Preserve the published version through appropriate archiving arrangements.
  • Provide article content and bibliographic metadata to indexing, discovery, repository, and scholarly information services.

The journal does not acquire exclusive publishing or commercial rights to the article.

3. Rights Retained by Authors

Authors remain free to use and reuse their work. This includes sharing the published article, depositing it in repositories, using it for teaching, and incorporating it into a thesis, dissertation, book, or subsequent scholarly work.

Authors may enter into additional non-exclusive publishing or distribution arrangements. The original publication in IJLBS should be acknowledged, preferably with the DOI or permanent article link.

These arrangements must not withdraw or restrict permissions already granted to users under the article’s open licence.

4. Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for ensuring that material included in their articles does not unlawfully infringe the rights of others.

Where permission is required to reproduce or adapt figures, tables, photographs, extracts, or other material, authors must obtain the necessary permission and provide appropriate acknowledgement.

Third-party material that is not covered by the article’s open licence must be clearly identified through a credit line or separate rights statement.

5. Relationship with Licensing Terms

Copyright ownership and public reuse permissions are separate matters. Authors retain copyright, while readers and other users may exercise the permissions granted under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0) applied to the article.

The conditions governing public use and reuse are explained on the journal’s Licensing Terms page. These Copyright Terms do not alter or limit the permissions granted under that licence.

6. Website Content

These terms apply to scholarly articles published in IJLBS. Copyright relating to website design, administrative content, and other material that does not form part of a published scholarly article is separate.

The open licence applied to an article does not automatically apply to the journal’s website design, branding, logos, or other website content.
